Child Labor By Jawad Nasser April 8 2022 Throughout history and under various contexts, human rights have been constantly violated, discrimination, slavery, trafficking, etc. all these are valid forms of human rights violation. In this article we are concerned with a specific type of human rights violation, that is child labor. Child labor is well present world wide, especially in under developed countries such as Congo and Ivory cost. Countries that tolerate child labor believe that it has financial benefits, however, studies have shown that child labor induces poverty and not wealth. Inequality It is a sad truth that in our day and time, inequality is still an issue. It is present in many different aspects: skin color, body shape, gender, sexual preferences… This inequality comes from the way our societies are brainwashed when it comes to standards, and superiority. For example, in Lebanon, it is a very common belief that women with a darker skin color, can only work as maids. Moreover, it is stated in multiple articles in the magazine “Al-Jazeera” that there is in fact racial discrimination across Lebanon. In one article, it is stated that 80% of employers do not allow an off day for their maids, which is act against basic human rights.
